Heeeey January, Heeey 2014, Heeey Goals

Thursday, January 02, 2014

Well it is January 3rd and this seems to be my first post of 2014 (*insert giddy dance*). So far the year has started out pretty crazy. I finally started my job at Starbucks (ahem, like a month after they hired me) but I guess when you work at the airport they have to do a very thorough back ground check. Maybe that's why it took so long? Anyways, I'm not complaining. There was also a very tiny scare with my cousin going to the hospital. But all was well and it was nothing very serious. So a lot has happened within the span of these first few days of the year.

I decided to once again make some goals for the new year. I had originally not wanted to, but then thought about it and realized that I needed to keep my mind focused on tasks to achieve and then there is always that amazing feeling of crossing a task off your list.

2014 goals:
- blog more! I made this resolution for last year and achieved it! So my goal for this year is to blog just a little bit more than I did last year. I want to share more things that are going on in my life. The ups and downs, happy and sads, all of it.
- create more. For christmas gifts I drew some of my friends and they all LOVED it. I put their personality into my paintings and that gave my art work uniqueness. Painting opened up something inside of me. In a way it made me fall in love with art just a little bit more. I know that I am a creative person, I just need to practice it more than I was last year.
- share my creations. I am very very shy with sharing my creations with people. Most of the reason why is because of criticism. But you know, I don't care anymore. If I think that I created something cool I am going to share it with everyone! What is the point of hiding my gifts? There is no point to it at all. So get ready so see my imagination blown up onto anything.
- take more pictures. I also made this resolution last year and I think I achieved it. I just want to bump it up a bit more and use the different cameras that I have and actually print them out. I haven't printed out pictures in years. I think the walgreens photo center will probably become my other home this year.
- wear my retainer every night. Yeah. I slacked last year and I need to get back on the band wagon with this one.
- redo my bedroom!! Okay so I made this resolution last year and didn't do a thing about it. This year I will sell all of my furniture, finally buy a beautiful book shelf (because all of my books are on the floor [shoot me]), and make more space in my room.
- focus more on my studies. Transferring to an actual university made me realize that I needed to study more. Last semester kicked my butt. No more slacking (for real) and let school come first before anything.
- change my major. I realized that majoring in education is a waste of my time and money. Education needs to be my minor. So now I need to make my decision on either majoring in psychology or art/art history. WHICH ONE DO I CHOOSE AND HOW DO I KNOW WHICH ONE TO CHOOSE?! ugh. In the next 3 months I need to make the decision.

Those are my goals/resolutions. I have a feeling that this year I will achieve all of them and feel proud of it. Did you make any goals this year? If so I want to hear about them!

  1. I think my ortho scared me so much about what would happen if I didn't wear my retainer that I worry if I forget to wear it at night. >.<
About the major, once you find your element you'll be able to make a decision. It will just hit you...:3
    Good luck.
